“Akiko Busch writes about design, culture, and nature for a variety of publications. She is the author of Geography of Home: Writings on Where We Live The Uncommon Life of Common Objects: Essays on Design and the EverydayPatience:  Taking Time in an Age of Acceleration, and Nine Ways to Cross a River.  The Incidental Steward, her essays about citizen science and stewardship will be published by Yale University Press in 2013. She was a contributing editor at Metropolismagazine for twenty years, and her essays have appeared in numerous national magazines, newspapers, and exhibition catalogues. She has taught at the University of Hartford and Bennington College. Currently, she is a regular contributor to www.nextavenue.org, the recently launched PBS website.  Her work has been recognized by grants from the Furthermore Foundation and NYFA. She lives in the Hudson Valley.”
