October 29th – Jorie Graham
Jorie Graham is the author of numerous collections of poetry, most recently Place, published by Ecco Press in 2013. Other collections include Sea Change (Ecco, 2008), Never (2002), Swarm (2000), and The Dream of the Unified Field: Selected Poems 1974-1994, which won the 1996 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. Her many honors include a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Fellowship and the Morton Dauwen Zabel Award from The American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. She has taught at the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop and is currently the Boylston Professor of Rhetoric and Oratory at Harvard University. She served as a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets from 1997 to 2003.

April Bernard is a novelist, poet, and essayist. Her first novel, Pirate Jenny, was published in 1990, and a second novel, Miss Fuller, was published by the Steerforth Press in 2012. Her poetry collections include Romanticism, Blackbird Bye Bye, Psalms, and Swan Electric. Her work has appeared in numerous journals, including The New York Review of Books, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The New Republic, The Nation, and Slate. Her honors include a Guggenheim award, the Walt Whitman Award from the Academy of American Poets, a Whitney Humanities Fellowship at Yale University, a Sidney Harman Fellowship, and the Stover Prize. She is Director of Creative Writing at Skidmore College and is on the faculty of the Bennington MFA Writing Seminars.
